Grace UMC dedicated a multi-level state of the art youth room on January 20th, 2008. The room 20 X 40, 20 ft high was originally intended to be a racquetball court when we expanded our building in 1998. For some reason, Grace could never bring itself to finish the court. Two years ago, several members of Grace and Rev. Jeremy Vickers began to pray for a clear vision for us to best utilize the space. Grace over the past few years has seen growth in worship and Sunday school, which had placed us in a dilemma. How do we best use our space on Sunday mornings, knowing that we were running out of space? A team was formed to pray and study options for the room and after a few months, they gathered together and defined a clear vision of a multi-level youth area. Working with numerous volunteers, the project began to take form in August and was completed January 19th. The space will provide a classroom, fellowship room and activity room for the students of our church and community. We thank the Missouri United Methodist Foundation for securing extra funds for our project, About Time Remodeling for giving us an amazing deal on construction and oversight of the project, and every person who prayed and worked many hours to help the vision God had placed on our hearts to become reality.
